¡He llegado!

I have arrived!  I love this place! The architecture, the colors, the culture, the language, the dogs (duh), the little niños, and the food - I could not be more smitten with Cusco, Peru.

Today, I worked in the cafe (The Meeting Place) from 8:30-11.  Then had Spanish lessons with a very sweet Peruvian lady named Erika.  She has been working 15 hours a day giving one-on-one lessons.  She is a single mom with a sick daughter and is cramming in all the hours she can to afford her medical bills.  She is an awesome teacher and clearly an amazing mother! After my lesson, I worked in the cafe again until 4pm. So many interesting people from all over the world come in.  Right now, there are two other girls working at the living and working at the cafe too.  Martina, my age, from Norway who has been here since October and was part of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Iquitos, Peru.  Rebecca, a couple years younger, from Alaska and is taking a semester off from school to be here for a month and then travel around South America. She got here a few days before me.  Both really cool girls!  Tomorrow morning we are going on a hike at 6am. Time to break in those hiking boots!

A few pictures form my wanderings today:
